After numerous walks long this site and a lot of reflecting, the gastronomers Franz and Leni Reitberger decided to acquire the real estate on 11.10.1949.

This piece of real estate was no more than moor land with a little barrack on it, no body would have bought it. The Reitberger family managed to turn the moor land into a firm meadow thanks to their great ambition, a lot of work and labour and the help of their daughter Edeltraud. The barrack was torn down, and the little "Pension Seeheim Edeltraud" came into existence on 01.06.1951, offering accommodation for 20 people. Years went by! The Reitbergers and their daughter made new plans again. 

The second floor was erected on 01.04.1957, giving accommodation for 30 people now. A bungalow was attached to the pension in 1959, increasing the number of beds to 38. Many years went by, and with great endeavour, the Reitberger family have worked their way up to a beautiful holiday resort! Numerous regular guests love to come back to this little paradise time and again for many years.

The Reitbergers' daughter got married in 1957 and is now known as Edeltraud Schaub. Edeltraud Schaub had two children, Edeltraud and Antoinette Schaub. 

Years went by again, Franz Reitberger died in 1974. His wife had still got some plans that they had once made together. She planned to tear the old house down and rebuild it completely in 1980. She studied those plans with great ambition. But she fell seriously ill in 1981 and died in August 1981. Her daughter realised the existing plans together with her husband and children according to her parents' intention. After a series of difficulties, the building could finally be started in 1982. 

A completely new guest house, a real dream house, was realised by the architect Wegmann from Schliersee and opened on 1st April 1983. It is now called "Gästehaus Edeltraud am See". Regretfully, the parents could never see it. Edeltraud Schaub sen. and her daughters Antoinette and Edeltraud have studied the hotel management led that family business for many years with great pleasure and ambition! All the guests who have once visited Gästehaus Edeltraud am See love to come back to this place time and again. Ease and comfort, harmony and loving design make up the particular ambience of this house. Let the little paradise by the lake Schliersee enchant you.
